Tulane University School of Medicine students Oluwagbotemi Igbaroola, MS, and Hailey Phillips, BS, have been selected as Henley Scholars in this year’s cohort for the Evelyn E. Henley Anesthesia Society (EEHAS). The students will present a case report at the National Medical Association convention in New Orleans later this month, and at the American Society of Anesthesiologists annual meeting in October. Dr. Henley was the first Black board-certified female anesthesiologist and served as chief of the Division of Anesthesiology at Howard University College of Medicine until her death in 1976. The society provides scholarships to medical students, residents, and fellows interested in pursuing anesthesiology careers.
