The Tulane Department of Anesthesiology had a busy and successful presence at the 2025 American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The team delivered a total of five poster presentations, two panel sessions, and a center-stage appearance, further solidifying Tulane’s visibility and impact in the academic world of anesthesiology.

Drs. Cox, Singaram, Pham, and several of our residents also represented the department at the Residency Program Open House, where they engaged with prospective applicants and highlighted the department’s commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarship.

Department members participated in multiple ASA committees. A mentoring grant was awarded to Drs. Pierce and Hanif Garces-Garces. Fourth year medical student Chris Mitry was also recognized.

The Tulane team hosted a departmental reception, where alumni and friends reconnected, shared experiences, and learned more about the department’s vision and direction.

Finally, in the concluding House of Delegates session, Dr. Kraig de Lanzac was elected First Vice President of the ASA, an outstanding achievement and proud moment for Tulane Anesthesiology.

As first vice president, Dr. de Lanzac will serve as a member of ASA’s Executive Committee, which consists of the president, president-elect, first vice president and immediate past president. The Executive Committee expedites, executes and administers the policies adopted by the ASA House of Delegates and ASA Board of Directors.
