Keith C. Ferdinand, MD, the Gerald S. Berenson Chair in Preventative Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine, received the “Distinguished Service Award” at the 75th annual scientific meeting of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). The ACC represents more than 56,000 members around the world. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Ferdinand’s unwavering dedication to providing quality care to patients globally. 

Dr. Roxana Mehran, President-Elect of the ACC, referred to Dr. Ferdinand as a “giant in cardiovascular health,” during the award ceremony.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Ferdinand has amassed extraordinary contributions to cardiovascular medicine. 

“I’m a child of the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans,” Dr. Ferdinand said in his acceptance speech, “My late parents, my extended family, and the general community saw in this little boy an opportunity to make a difference.” Watch his full acceptance speech here.
