Elizabeth Kelly, MD, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University School of Medicine, is a recipient of the 2023 Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Humanism in Teaching Award. She was honored at their annual meeting in late February.
The APGO Humanism in Teaching Award honors OB/GYN educators from APGO member departments who are outstanding role models in teaching OB/GYN. Awardees are recognized not only as skilled clinicians but also as outstanding educators who intentionally foster compassionate, respectful, and collaborative relationships with learners, healthcare teams, patients, and their families with the ultimate goal of engendering shared and preference-based medical decisions, greater patient satisfaction with care, and improved outcomes. Dr. Kelly is Tulane’s OB/GYN Program Director of Medical Student Education.
