Shaina D’Souza, a PhD Candidate in the McLachlan Lab at Tulane University School of Medicine, was recently awarded the Ray Owen Poster Award at the 2024 Midwinter Conference of Immunologists in Asilomar, California. This prestigious award recognizes poster presentations of immunology projects from around the world. D’Souza’s poster, titled “Helper T cell protection against Salmonella infection is female-specific and estrogen-dependent,” was chosen from over 100 posters displayed at the conference.
“Winning an award at a West Coast immunology conference amongst so many other established projects felt extremely validating of the work that we do here at Tulane,” said D’Souza.
