The Louisiana Psychological Association recently named Monica Stevens, PhD, as a director of the LPA Executive Council. Stevens is a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine. The LPA represents psychologists across the state and aims to advance psychology as a science, profession, and a means of promoting human welfare.

Dr. Stevens specializes in treating disruptive behavior disorders, trauma, and grief. Since she joined the Section of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry in 2010, Dr. Stevens has practiced in various clinics and organizations, including those that serve the needs of very young children, school-aged children, and adolescents with significant psychiatric and educational concerns, and children involved with the juvenile justice system. She is energized by efforts to improve the well-being of Louisiana’s youth through collaboration and innovation.
