Two second-year medical students at Tulane University School of Medicine won big at the 65th Annual National Student Research Forum at University of Texas Medical Branch. Joe Abi-Rached placed second overall for his oral presentation, Metabolic Health and the Obesity Paradox: the Effects of Obesity in Atrial Fibrillation Patients with and without Metabolic Disease. David Gervasio won second place for best poster presentation for his poster titled, Developing a Marker for Chemotherapy-Induced Senescence and Tumor Relapse.
