Afzaal Shareef (left), a Tulane’s Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program graduate student, earned the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research. The three-year training grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences will come with mentored research training from a faculty sponsor.
